This particular clock came in looking very sorry for itself. It hadn't been looked after properly for a long time, a previous owner just kept pouring more oil on to it. A valuable clock such as this deserves much better attention. Cleaning a clock that is this dirty requires careful consideration, the wrong procedure could ruin the mechanism..
